Common questions
I can’t sign in.
Giani uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. Make sure you’re signed into your Apple ID / Google account on the device, and that you have an internet connection. If it still fails, force quit the app and try again. If that doesn’t help, email us with your device model and iOS version.
My streak disappeared.
Your streak increases on every day you complete the daily set. If you miss a day, the streak resets. Make sure your device’s date and time are set to automatic. If you believe your streak was lost incorrectly, email us with the approximate date and we can look into it.
My rating went down.
Giani uses an Elo-style rating: every question has its own difficulty, and your rating moves up or down based on how you do against questions of that difficulty. Harder misses cost you more; harder correct answers are worth more. This is intentional and helps the daily set stay challenging as you improve.
I’m not receiving notifications.
Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → Giani and make sure notifications are allowed. You can also turn specific reminders (daily set, word of the day, streak) on / off inside Giani’s Settings screen.
There’s a factual mistake in a question.
Please tell us. Punjabi culture, history, and Sikhi are deep and nuanced, and we want to get it right. Send the question text and a source if you have one to support@giani.app or use in-app feedback.
How do I delete my account and data?
Inside the app: Settings → Delete account. Or email support@giani.app from the address you signed up with. We will delete your profile, question history, rating snapshots, and feedback within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does Giani work without an internet connection?
You need a connection to sign in and to fetch each day’s set. Once loaded, you can usually finish the set offline, and we’ll sync your results the next time you’re online.
